The Eagle Arts Commission provided a grant in 2007 to Ward Hooper to create five distinct art images featuring the historic, cultural, and narrative themes of the City of Eagle. Ward's goal for this project was to enlighten and engage the public regarding the history of Eagle and to create a sense of pride and interest about the city's future.
Ward states "by illustrating the way Eagle natives feel about their city in a bold and graphic manner, residents can take pride in their city in a tangible way and begin the process to create a sense of place. With the influx of so many new residents to the city, it is important to illustrate the past in order to plot a clear course for the future."
The posters are called Eagle Arts, Eagle Vineyards, Eagle Past, Eagle Farm to Ranch, and Eagle River (in order below as referenced). Each poster is 13” x 24.5” inches, except the “Eagle River” poster is 21” x 16.5.” The posters are available for sale at Eagle City Hall through the Eagle Arts Commission, located at 660 E. Civic Lane, Monday-Friday, 9 am – 4 pm. Posters are $18.00 each or five posters for $80.00. Ward debuted the posters at Boise’s Art in the Park on September 7-9 and the Eagle Food & Wine Festival in downtown Eagle on September 29.
